# Running TranscriptOMatic

<span>Now that everything is prepared and checked, what now? </span>

# Pre-Session Checklist

- [ ] Boot your Raspberry Pi
- [ ] Sign into your [Raspberry Pi's GUI](https://info.zusammenkunft.net/books/how-to-set-up/page/optional-activating-vnc "(Optional) Activating VNC")
- [ ] (Optional) Check if [Syncthing](https://info.zusammenkunft.net/books/things-also-to-consider/page/storage-preventing-data-loss "Storage & Preventing Data Loss") is running
- [ ] Start Legcord &amp; log into your [dedicated second account](https://info.zusammenkunft.net/books/how-to-set-up/page/creating-a-dedicated-discord-account "Creating a Dedicated Discord Account")
- [ ] <span style="background-color:rgb(252,228,225);">Check if all participants consented to have their voices recorded - [the goal is informed consent](https://info.zusammenkunft.net/books/difficulties/page/privacy-concerns "Privacy Concerns")</span>
- [ ] Enter the Session's voice channel
- [x] Make sure Legcord's voice settings are correct, and the client is getting audio in
- [ ] If there is a music bot in the voice channel, set its volume to silent
- [ ] Open a terminal or an ssh client and log into your Raspberry Pi3
- [ ] On the command line, enter `meeting-start --en`
- [ ] Open another terminal or ssh connection and enter `meeting-follow`
- [ ] (Optional) Screen-share the terminal window running `meeting-follow` with your Discord voice channel, so everybody can read the transcript. It might help people who struggle with auditory processing, even though transcription quality on budget hardware is limited.

3) You absolutely can open a terminal on the Raspberry Pi's desktop via VNC, too, but I, personally, find this inconvenient.

# Post-Session Checklist

- [ ] Stop `meeting-follow` (Ctrl+C)
- [ ] Start `meeting-stop`

- [ ] Leave the voice channel and close Legcord

    - [ ] Check that the recording is deleted on all connected devices
